When the first piece of footage from Ghost of Tsushima was revealed, players were entranced by the beautiful imagery in the game as well as the excitingly realistic gameplay.
But while it's easy for us to just sit back and enjoy the stunning visuals on display, a new featurette for the Sucker Punch title details all of the research the developers conducted to ensure the game was a realistic depiction of the Mongol invasion.
Of course, as the publisher previously stated, the game's story won't recreate the invasion with 100% historical accuracy. That said, the developers still spent a lot of time studying the historical conflict and researching what Japanese culture was like during this era.
As explained in the featurette, most of this research was done because, even though they were altering parts of the story, they wanted to ensure that they depicted the various cultures in Ghost of Tsushima with respect.
