Horizon Forbidden West was finally officially revealed at the very end of Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event — just before the reveal of the next-generation console itself. It's the long-awaited sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, Guerilla Games' 2017 masterpiece.
The epic reveal trailer featured the return of Aloy and a plethora of robotic dinosaurs. Sony Interactive Entertainment subsequently shared some high-definition stills of Horizon Forbidden West — that you can check out here. However, they didn't reveal any key art or the game's box art. Rather, that seems to have found its way online on its own.
The artwork appears to have originated from a well-known insider called Shinobi602, or perhaps they simply reposted it. Their tweet has since been taken down regardless. The source isn't exactly clear. However, it looks official enough that a reputable source isn't necessarily necessary.
Aloy is featured at the bottom of the key art, a robotic pterodactyl dominates the top, and the game's logo is situated in the center. It certainly looks like cover art as it's in keeping with the style of that of Horizon Zero Dawn. Folks over on ResetEra have even given it the full-blown game cover treatment — adding it to a conceptual PlayStation 5 box.
You can check out the key art and concept for the cover art below. It definitely looks convincing.
Horizon Forbidden West continues Aloy’s story as she moves west to a far-future America to brave a majestic, but dangerous frontier where she’ll face awe-inspiring machines and mysterious new threats. Coming to PlayStation 5.
