Insomniac Games'
Marvel's Spider-Man has been met with rave reviews and it looks like that has translated into incredible sales for the PlayStation 4 exclusive title. Released earlier this month, Sony announced today that
Marvel's Spider-Man has become the fastest-selling first-party title PlayStation history, selling over 3.3 million copies in just its first three days. The company announced the amazing feat on Twitter, thanking developer Insomniac Games and Marvel.
Marvel's Spider-man currently sits at an impressive 87 combined Metascore on
Metacritic, with an even more spectacular 8.9 user score. The action-adventure title has been hailed by critics as not only the best Spider-Man game, but one of the best superhero games ever made. Many have praised its visuals, story, and gameplay, particularly the web-swinging mechanics. The general consensus among many is that Insomniac Games has done a fantastic job making you feel like you're actually the neighborhood friendly web-slinger.
Insomniac Games has already announced that
Marvel's Spider-Man will receive a three-part DLC arc titled "
Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps." The first DLC episode, "
The Heist," will release on October 23.
Previously teased, the episode will introduce Felicia Hardy/Black Cat. Additionally, a more challenging New Game Plus mode
is in the works and coming soon.
