Fans of the
Final Fantasy series know pretty well how torturous the development of Square Enix's highly anticipated
Final Fantasy VII Remake has been; having been announced quite a few years ago, and now officially revealed to be releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the
3rd of March.
While fans keep waiting a few more months for the game to come out, Square Enix has been treating all of us to some new high definition screenshots of
Final Fantasy VII Remake; showing us some character portraits, and even images of them in action.
Needless to say, Square Enix has definitely made up for all of the time they kept fans waiting for updates on the project that some — a large portion of the series' fanbase, in fact — thought would not see the light of day; at least not for this generation of consoles.
Recently, the developer has shared quite a handful of high definition screenshots of the game in action; all of it from either in-game cutscenes or gameplay — with the exception of the character portraits for Cloud and Aerith — so, without further ado, please check them out down below.
In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?
Final Fantasy VII Remake will become available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 3rd of March in 2020.
