Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was one of the games shown during Sony's special PlayStation 5, and it was actually the game that got the most coverage, too. Insomniac Games, now an official first-party developer for Sony, definitely pulled no punches revealing MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the new Ratchet & Clank title.
The developers at Insomniac Games actually revealed a lot of details about Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, while also showing off some gameplay that could also be considered a tech demo in its own right; all of which made fans of the long-running Ratchet & Clank series more excited.
While Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was revealed to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Insomniac Games didn't reveal whether the game will be a launch title — unlike MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales — or if it will be releasing after Sony's next-gen console hits store shelves.
For those who can't wait to know more about the game we have some great news, as video game journalist Geoff Keighley has confirmed that Insomniac Games will be revealing gameplay footage of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart at gamescom's Opening Night Live.
Opening Night Live will be livestreamed this Thursday 27th of August at 11:00 AM Pacific Time / 2:00 PM Eastern Time / 8:00 PM CEST, so those interested in watching gameplay footage for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart should definitely tune in. Maybe Insomniac Games will finally gives us an official release date, and hopefully confirm that the game will, indeed, be a PlayStation 5 launch title.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is currently in development for the PlayStation 5.
