During Sony's special PlayStation 5 presentation, Insomniac Games surprised fans by announcing that they were working on a sequel — or is it maybe a spin-off — to the critically acclaimed MARVEL's Spider-Man, which was actually a great way to kickstart the event.
What fans weren't expecting, however, was to find out that MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales wasn't the only sequel that Insomniac Games is currently working on, as the developer also announced Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart as one of the titles that will also be launching for the PlayStation 5.
The trailer doesn't really give us that many clues to know if this game is set right after the events of the Ratchet & Clank reboot, or of this is a direct sequel to Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus for the PlayStation 3 — which is actually the final entry in the series until the reboot launched in 2016.
What we do know about Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is that we will see our heroes going on an interdimensional adventure, and that there is some new teleport/warp mechanic that allows players to traverse the world faster, and even manipulate some aspects of the world to their advantage.
Whatever the case, this new entry in the Ratchet & Clank series defiitely looks great. unfortunately, Insomniac Games didn't reveal when the game will become available, but it is likely that it won't be at launch, since MARVEL's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is releasing as a PlayStation 5 launch title.
