Infamous Second Son and its DLC First Flight demonstrated that Sucker Punch Studios are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to open world action-adventure games. Upon completing those projects, the studio wanted to do something new. In this video, Creative/Art Director Jason Connell and Creative Director Nate Fox share the process that lead to the creation of this new IP.

After hearing pitches from team members, they settled upon creating an open world action-stealth adventure game set in feudal Japan during a Mongol invasion. In this backdrop, the player is a Samurai in the island of Tsushima.

Player choice will be explored in interesting ways. The main idea is to allow the player to experience what it is to be a Samurai.

It was also revealed that the game has been in development for three and a half years.

Check out the interview below. Are you excited for Ghost of Tsushima? Will you purchase it when it launches exclusively on the Playstation 4? Tell us in the comments.
