The PlayStation 4 was released on the 15th of November in 2013, becoming the fourth home video game console manufactured by Sony Interactive Entertainment—as well as one of, if not, the most popular console of this generation.
Back in May, even, Sony revealed that the
Sony PlayStation 4 Dualshock was the best-selling gamepad of all time, although they did also clarify that this was only applicable to the standard black DualShock 4 and not other variations; but it is still quite the achievement.
Now that Sony is officially celebrating the PlayStation 4's fifth anniversary, the company has decided to make a new PlayStation bundle with the
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PlayStation 4 bundle. This bundle will be releasing on the 27th of November, and will be including a jet-black 1TB PlayStation 4, its respective DualShock 4 wireless controller, and a physical copy of
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
On top of this bundle, Sony has shared some very interesting stats about the console and some of the most-played games in it, as well as units sold, major firmware updates, and even the rarest PlayStation 4 model.
First things first, the PlayStation 4 has managed to sell a whopping 86 million units as of September of this year, with over 777.9 million units sold in software. As for the major updates the console has seen since its release, we're currently on 6.00, which is the 11th major update since 1.01.
When it comes to the Top 5 best-selling titles on the PlayStation 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 sits comfortably at the number 1 position, followed by
Call of Duty: World War II,
Fifa 17,
Fifa 18, and
Grand Theft Auto V.
The rarest PlayStation 4 model goes to the fantastic
500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro, which was released in September as the company celebrated the 500th million units sold since the original PlayStation was released back in 1994.
