In a pretty exciting move, Ubisoft has announced today that all of their virtual reality multiplayer games will be cross-platform moving forward. That's going to start with Eagle Flight, and what that means is that PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift players will be able to compete against each other online. When the Vive launches next month, they too will also be able to join in on the action! Pretty cool, right?
Cross-platform will be featured in Werewolf Within when that goes on sale on December 6th, while Star Trek: Bridge Crew is another title set to take advantage of this idea when it's released next March.
With VR still a relatively new technology, this is a smart move, and it will be interesting to see which other companies now follow suit. Gamers have complained that the online modes for many games are a little quiet, so this should change that, and that's going to be good news for pretty much everyone.
