INTO THE BADLANDS Star Daniel Wu Joins The Cast Of TOMB RAIDER
Yet another major casting addition has been made to the upcoming TomB Raider movie, and this one will see Daniel Wu take on the role of one of Lara Croft's closest allies. Hit the jump for further details!
Variety reveals that Daniel Wu has joined the cast of the Tomb Raider movie, joining Alicia Vikander (Lara Croft) and Walton Goggins (a currently unnamed villain). He'll play Lu Ren, a ship captain who partners with Croft on a quest to find her father. No further details have been revealed, but this points to the reboot closely following the events of the character's video game return a few years back.
In that, Lara ended up stranded on an island after the ship she was on crashed, so the movie going down a similar route looks likely. That's pure speculation for now, but what we do know is that Roar Uthaug is directing Tomb Raider and that it's currently set to be released on March 16th, next year.
With production expected to begin soon, more casting should quickly follow this latest announcement. As always, be sure to stay tuned to Game Fragger for the latest and this and more video game movies!
