Over the past couple of years, movies like Assassin's Creed and Warcraft have gotten our hopes up that things might finally take a turn for the better with the video game movie genre. That sadly hasn't proved to be the case and now a lot of hopes are being pinned on Tomb Raider to turn things around. Starring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, what we've seen from it points to it being a faithful adaptation.

On the magazine cover below, the Oscar-winning actress looks like she's stepped straight out of the video game franchise and the stills tease plenty of epic action to come in the upcoming movie.

Bear in mind that Tomb Raider is being released on March 16th, Flashpoint's original release date!

Whether or not it will live up to expectations is something of a mystery but the early signs are good (then again, they were for the disappointing movies mentioned above). What do you guys think about these images and what we've seen from Tomb Raider so far? Let us know your thoughts below.
