According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime's planned live-action adaptation of Halo is now entering the casting stages and it sounds like we may finally get to see what's underneath Master Chief's mask! He is indeed going to be the lead here and it's said that the network is looking for a "Spartan-like warrior of large build."

Master Chief is also listed as a series regular which means we'll more than likely see under the mask as the trade notes that it's unlikely Showtime would cast a star for the show and then keep his face covered up from start to finish!

He's not the only video game character set to make an appearance. We'll also see
Dr. Catherine Halsey who appears in 2010's Halo: Reach, 2012's Halo 4, and 2015's Halo 5: Guardians. Showtime is also searching for an Asian woman between 18 - 20 to play Jenny and it's thought that the character will be a new creation for the series.

While a premiere date hasn't been set as of yet, production is slated to begin next June in Budapest. How do you guys feel about Halo keeping the spotlight on Master Chief? Share your thoughts below.
