Halo Infinite is the next entry in the long-running first-person shooter series originally developed by Bungie but as of late has been handled by 343 Industries. It's the first mainline instalment since 2015 and will be exclusively available on Microsoft platforms, those being the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
Recently, 343 Industries dropped the official gameplay reveal trailer for Halo Infinite — which you can check out below. Even more recently, the studio revealed Halo Infinite's multiplayer will be playable for free and support 120 FPS. Find out more about that here.
Halo Infinite won't only feature an online multiplayer mode but also a campaign mode — as per usual. That isn't all, though. According to an official Microsoft Store listing, Halo Infinite will include a battle royale mode. Of course, battle royale modes have been quite a big thing as of late, so it certainly would make sense.
The listing is specific to the Japanese version of Xbox.com. Under the genre section, it's said that Halo Infinite is a "Battle Royale Shooting." However, the genre is simply "Shooter" on the English version of the listing.
So, there's a chance that this is simply a mistranslation but there's also a chance that someone has accidentally let something slip. Until anything official is revealed, we can only speculate.
Halo Infinite comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC in Q4 2020.
