At essentially the ending of Microsoft's E3 conference, their next-generation console was finally revealed. "Project Scarlett," has been rumoured as the next Xbox for quite some time now but this is the first official confirmation we've gotten.
Project Scarlett includes a new processor built on AMD's Navi GPU and Ryzen CPU architecture. The next-generation console will be four times as powerful as the Xbox One X according to Microsoft. The console will reportedly be capable of 120 FPS and 8K resolutions and support backwards compatibility.
Microsoft mentioned that Project Scarlett will allow for more real environments than ever before with brand new ray tracing technology. The console will feature a Solid State Drive (SSD) rather than a typical hard drive. This should combat long loading screens (something Microsoft seemed particularly opposed to during this segment).
The next-generation console is expected to release during holiday 2020 and bring with it
Halo Infinite. Find out more on that highly anticipated sequel
