Black Friday sales help keep Xbox 360 ahead of the pack in console war

Microsoft has to be happy with Black Friday, at least as far as the Xbox 360 is concerned. For the 23rd straight month, Xbox 360 has remained atop as the console king, edging out Sony and Nintendo. U.S. sales of the Xbox 360 hit 1.26 million units in November. Over the week of Black Friday, Xbox 360 sold more than 750,000 consoles in the U.S. alone.

Highlights from the November 2012 NPD data include:

  • Xbox 360 sold 1.26 million units in November
  • Total retail earnings related to the Xbox 360 platform in November (hardware, software and accessories) hit $1.2 billion, the most for any console in the U.S.
  • During the month of November, Xbox 360 held four of the top 10 console game titles with: Halo 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassin’s Creed 3, and NFL Madden 13.
