With summer in full swing, Microsoft is giving you a reason to stay inside. August's Games with Gold have been announced, and it features some of Microsoft's best exclusives.
Highlighting the month's free offerings are
Gears of War 4 and
Forza Motorsport 6 for Xbox One. Gears of War 4 will be available for the entirety of August and arrives just in time for the upcoming release of
Gears 5 (September 10).
Forza Motorsport 6, available for free from August 16 through September 15, is the Xbox's signature racing series from developer Turn 10 Studios. Released in 2016, it introduced new gameplay elements, such as rain and night racing. It also boasts more than 450 cars and 27 tracks.
For Xbox 360 (and also Xbox One via backward compatibility) will be
Torchlight, 2009's action role-playing hack-and-slash dungeon crawler, and
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, 2013's action-adventure from MercurySteam and Kojima Productions.
Torchlight will be free from August 1-15, with
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow free from August 16-31.
Gears of War 4

Forza Motorsport 6 Standard Edition
