Ashen is an action RPG about a wanderer in search of a place to call home in a world where nothing lasts. The game features "passive" multiplayer, as every player will be searching for a safe spot with their own, personal agendas. It's up to you how to deal with them, and what's even better, they appear in your game dynamically, and anonymously as you approach an area that requires a second player.
Ashen takes place in a large open world comprised of various types of landscapes and ancient architecture, your settlement is nestled in the mountains, surrounded by hand crafted environments as far as the eye can see. While exploring this oneiric world, there's a big chance you will encounter a large cast of characters, and those NPCs have their own missions, agendas and motivations.
You will have to be very careful, as each encounter, no matter how trivial seeming, has the potential to end in disaster. Knowing the land and being patient are some of the most valuable weapons available to a lone wanderer in
Ashen. Sometimes it is best to turn and run as the creatures of
Ashen include lonely giants and hungry, twisted inhabitants of the night that would love to eat you alive.
Aurora44's and Annapurna Interactive Ashen lands first on Xbox One and Windows 10, both as part of Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Game Pass. Take a look at eight new screenshots down below:
Ashen is an action role-playing game is about a wanderer in search of a place to call home. There is no sun, and the only natural light comes from eruptions that cover the land in ash. This is a world where nothing lasts, no matter how tightly you cling to it. At its core, Ashen is about forging relationships. Players can guide those they trust to their camp — together, you might just stand a chance.
Ashen is aiming to launch before the end of 2018.
