Gears of War 5 is set to support cross-platform play between the Xbox One and PC, the same as Gears of War 4. For those who are wondering which modes are supported, Ryan Cleven, who is the multiplayer director, decided to clear the air.
Gamers playing on the Xbox One and PC platforms can play together in modes such as Versus, Escape, Horde, and Campaign.
"We are happy to confirm that Gears 5 will feature cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 PC for Versus Multiplayer," he said. "Cross-platform play also extends across the other Gears 5 modes to provide a great over-the-top three-player experience in Escape, an epic five-player Horde session, or three-player Campaign co-op."
Since using the keyboard and mouse offer PC gamers greater precision, those who are using a controller can choose to option-out of a ranked multiplayer match if they do not feel comfortable with the odds.
A multiplayer technical test is available now on Xbox One and PC as the game prepares for a full launch on September 5, 2019.
