Despite creating many successful and respected franchises, including the
Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, and
Resistance series, Insomniac’s
Sunset Overdrive has failed to interest players. The gaudy game was announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2013, as one of a plenty of Xbox One's potential system-sellers.
Sunset is set in 2027, in a fictional metropolis called Sunset City where humans have turned into mutants after drinking FizzCo's energy drink beverage.
The game received generally positive reviews (a very strong 81% on Metacritic), with praise for its fabulous visuals, traversal system, combat system, and humor. It looks like PC users will finally have a chance to check out this bastard child of Insomniac Games. "
Sunset Overdrive PC" has popped up on the Korean Game Ratings Board website, suggesting that the PC version of the funky game will be revealed soon.
In 2016,
Tekken 7 producer Katsuhiro Harada explained why the Korean Game Ratings Board is "
the worst" in a simple Tweet: “
Before we export [a game], we have to submit the data to a ratings board that’s connected to the South Korea government. However, what actually happens is that every time even though it’s confidential information, the ratings board leaks info to the media.” Harada added, "
This ratings board is the worst.” So, it looks like
Sunset Overdrive is definitively heading to PC.
