Gris is a 2D platformer, developed by Nomada Studio and published by Devolver Digital, with a beautiful and surreal art style that was released in December of last year for the Nintendo Switch, macOS, and Windows.
In August of this year, developer Nomada Studio released a port of
Gris for iOS devices, as well as a PlayStation 4 that actually became available last week; with the PlayStation 4 version of the game taking full advantage of the PlayStation 4 Pro's 4K resolution to deliver an even more polished experience.
Ever since
Gris was released last year, the game has been getting a lot of critical praise; and for good reason. Nomada Studio did a wonderful job with the game's level design, and phenomenal art direction. In fact, the game has been nominated in a number of categories for this year's The Game Awards.
While The Game Awards are still a week away, developer Nomada Studio has revealed that
Gris has already been chosen as Apple's Mac Game of the Year; thanking fans for their support and congratulating all of the other winners.
Gris has been nominated for Fresh Indie Game, Games for Impact, and Best Art Direction; with The Game Awards taking place on the 12th of December, it is only a matter of time until the critically acclaimed title wins a few more, and well-deserved awards.
Gris is a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience in her life. Her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities to better navigate her faded reality.
Gris is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, macOS, Microsoft Windows, and iOS.
