Playtonic's
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is only mere days away from releasing, becoming available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam) on Tuesday the
8th of October.
While fans of the
Yooka-Laylee series will still have to wait a few more days for the game to release, reviews have already began puring in — revealing that
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is a fantastic 2D platformer that rivals
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze; a game that many players consider to be the best in the genre.
Today, Playtonic has also taken the opportunity to flaunt some of the near perfect scores the game has bee getting, while also confirming that
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will run at a solid 60 frames per second on the Nintendo Switch(and the other platforms as well, obviously) in both docked and handheld mode; providing the same experience across all available platforms.
Perhaps what's even more interesting, is the fact that Playtonic also confirmed that
Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will have in-game achievements on the Nintendo Switch. Some players don't mind not having them, but it is a nice touch that's definitely worth commending the developer for.
