Developed by WayForward Technologies, Shantae is a series of platform-adventure games that saw its humble beginnings on the Game Boy Color all the way back in 2002; with the latest entry in the series releasing in December of 2016 in the form of Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.
Yesterday, WayForward and Shantae series creator Matt Bozon revealed that they were working on Shantae 5, and that the game is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and the recently announced Apple Arcade.
It is likely that Shantae 5 is still in very early stages of development, so WayForward didn't really give us an official release date — although they assured us that it will release later in 2019 — or a teaser trailer for the game. We did, however, get a nice announcement poster that, hopefully, will have fans of the series excited for the neext entry — so we'll have to keep an eye out for future announcements.
