As part of Ubisoft Forward, the publisher/developer's digital conference in lieu of E3, Tom Clancy's Elite Squad was announced. The new free-to-play mobile RPG is based on the lore of the Tom Clancy's video game series, including Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, The Division, and Rainbow Six.
With more than 70 characters to choose from -- including Caveira, Sam Fisher, El Sueño, Montagne, Nomad and more -- players assemble a squad and take them into 5x5 shooting battles set across maps inspired by many of the Tom Clancy's series iconic locations. As the battle plays out, players can assign strategic orders for their units to follow. In addition to creating a squad, players can strategize by equipping weapons, gear pieces, and unique abilities that can also be upgraded.
Developed by Ubisoft Owlient, Tom Clancy's Elite Squad will feature a multi-chapter campaign that introduces a new storyline "where players will have to face a new threat to save the world." Playing through the campaign will unlock soldiers and unique narrative scenes. There's also a PvP aspect of the game where players can take on other squads in the arena or even take part in guild wars for a more competitive experience.
Tom Clancy's Elite Squad is a fast military role-playing game where players will assemble and upgrade the most iconic Tom Clancy’s heroes and villains, to lead them in stunning realtime 5vs5 shooting battles.
Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad is set to launch on iOS and Android devices worldwide on August 27. Pre-registering now will unlock an exclusive weapon for Montagne, the operator from Rainbow Six Siege.
