It may be 2021, ut the creators of MARVEL Contest of Champions have deiced to take a trip back to the 90s to bring some of the most influential characters of that decade to the contest. While the mutants of Krakoa continue to trickle into the game, it doesn't hurt to bring some color and eccentric outfits into the fold as well.

A new motion comic shows off a new hero, the firecracker herself, Jubilee, and Stryfe, a much darker version of Cable as they find themselves in a setting that looks similar to an arcade cabinet. As the two try to figure out how to leave, we are treated to an awesome demonstration of their powers.

X-Men: Prodigal Son is a new story that can be found in the game and lets players take control of these new characters. As of now, there are no updates on the move lists of the characters yet, but they look like they will be exciting to control nonetheless and feature some exciting animations.

Will you be taking up the challenge of X-Men: Prodigal Son? We would love to hear your thoughts on the news in the comments below, and don't forget to tell us your thoughts on the characters in the comments!

Jubilee grew up in a wealthy family, attending a private school and becoming an exceptional gymnast. However, her life took an unexpected turn when her parents were assassinated, leaving her orphaned. After manifesting her explosive mutant powers she was welcomed with open arms into a new family, the X-Men.

A child was created as a clone of infant “Nathan Summers” in the hopes of salvaging his techno-organic virus ravished body. Thinking this child to be Nathan, Apocalypse kidnapped him, giving him the name Stryfe in preparation to one day transfer his own consciousness into Stryfe’s body. Later discovering that he was actually a clone and unfit to house his essence, Apocalypse abandoned Stryfe. Feeling betrayed by both what he thought was his real parents and his adoptive father Apocalypse, Stryfe grew up as an embittered madman seeking vengeance on those who wronged him.
