The release of the Pokemon titles finally coming to Nintendo Switch has been a lot of excitement for fans for multiple generations.
Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! and
Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! have been selling astronomically well, breaking records and helping the Nintendo Switch to break records during the Black Friday weekend, which was of course only weeks after the games were launched.
While these are new games, the main story is essentially a rehashing of that which was told in Red and Blue (Green), or more specifically - the Yellow version. This game take from that in that you are allowed companions thoughout the game and that your main Pokemon builds a connection with you and remains outside of the Pokeball, also using all of the would-be HM's.
In addition, being connected to Pokemon Go has changed a lot about the game that long time fans are used to. For instance, trainers no longer are required to battle Pokemon in order to catch them, instead the catch mechanic is quite similar to that of Niantic's mobile giant. On top of that, the lovable Safari Zone has been gutted for the Go Park, which is the way for players to bring in Pokemon to the game. It's an interesting feature to say the least.
"These games aren't spin-offs. These are core Pokemon titles. As for whether we would make other games that could connect to Pokemon Go, that will depend on how the games are received. If we hear a lot of people saying that they enjoyed being able to bring Pokemon to these games from Pokemon Go, then we'll think about maybe having future titles also be able to connect to it." - Junichi Masuda, Director of Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee!
It is obvious from Masuda's statements that they take these titles seriously, and that means the fans might want to as well. With the next Generation of games just around the corner, you'll want a heads up on the competition. Below is the trailer for
