As Niantic's augmented reality game has a wide variety of trainers that play and no specific genre of consumers due to its immense popularity and free-to-play capability, the amount that trainers spend on in-game shops and accessories in Pokemon Go ranges.
One particular man, seventy year old Chen San-yuan has been turning heads and making international headlines due to his latest invention - a bicycle strapped to eleven phones, all equipped with Pokemon Go and ready to go. Costing him over $1300 a month, the man the locals call "Uncle Pokemon" is determined to become a Pokemon Master no matter the cost.
He is often reported to be seen more frequently playing at night, all the way until 4 a.m. at times, causing him to be out for up to twenty hours a day. Uncle Pokemon says that he spends his time building his own gyms rather than taking others as he doesn't find it fair to other players to be ruthless.
Prepared for anything, the man keeps battery packs with him at all times to keep his phones charged. He hopes to continue to make friends and to fight Alzheimers using Pokemon Go and his contraptions, no matter what the cost.
What do you think about that? Twenty hours a day is pretty crazy at seventy years old - do you think you'll still be dedicated to gaming by that age? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
