Last month, Sony Pictures Entertainment and developer Ghost Corps
announced Ghostbusters World, an “all-new state-of-the-art” augmented reality game. Though similar in nature to
Pokemon GO, the game is said to feature
“the latest in AR and other mobile technologies and differentiates itself with skill-based gameplay and numerous other exciting yet to be announced.”
Today, thanks to a developer Let’s Play walkthrough, we finally get our first glimpse of
Ghostbusters World gameplay. The video showcases the full scope of Google Maps API integration, interaction with the environment, and new ghosts being caught. It should be noted that this gameplay is from a pre-alpha build of the game.
In addition to the gameplay video, we also have a new trailer for the game from GDC this week.
Ghostbusters World is set to launch for iOS and Android devices in 2018.
