We Got This Covered are at it again with yet another rumour regarding the supposedly emerging, live-action Pokemon cinematic universe. Just the other day the site posted reports regarding the plot of the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie - which may have revealed the spoilery antagonists of the film - as well as regarding an alleged spinoff which would focus on the fan-favourite, powerful Pokemon of Mewtwo.
This time WGTC supposedly have the scoop regarding a live-action movie that Legendary Pictures are developing based on Pokemon Red & Blue - the very first Pokemon video-games. The site's "trusted sources" state that the film will be set in the same cinematic universe as Detective Pikachu, only set before it, in the 1990s. This Red & Blue movie would focus on the human world and Pokemon world's first encounters with each other.
Many are of course skeptical of this claim as it the first Pokemon video-games, specifically, didn't feature much of a story. It would also mean that Legendary are developing multiple spinoffs at once - the other being the afformentioned Mewtwo movie (which is totally seperate from the upcoming animated movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back).
Though, if this rumour does prove to be legitimate, it would most likely mean that the fan-favourite trio of Team Rocket would make an appearance - as they feature prominently in the Red & Blue video-games.
Detective Pikachu is set to arrive in theatres on May 10th, 2019.
