According to THR, Paramount Pictures' upcoming big screen adaptation of Sega's best-selling Sonic the Hedgehog video game has found its female lead.
Tika Sumpter (Gossip Girl, Ride Along) is joining James Marsden in the live-action/CGI hybrid flick. No specific information on Sumpter's character was provided.
Sonic will be helmed by first-time feature director Jeff Fowler, who is known for the 2005 Oscar-nominated short Gopher Broke. Neal H. Moritz will produce, with Deadpool director Tim Miller on board as an executive producer along with Toby Ascher.
Sonic the Hedgehog is set to open Nov. 15, 2019.
