Sonic the Hedgehog's first venture onto the big-screen will be releasing this November. We're yet to get a trailer though, going by the recent footage shown off during CinemaCon, will most likely soon. The only seemingly official material we've gotten in regards to the live-action film is some promotional artwork which revealed what the iconic speedster may look like on-screen.
Based on that leaked artwork, it seems that the film will be departing from Sonic's classic design a little, but according to Ben Schwartz will pay homage to its source material in a different way - through Easter Eggs.
The actor who will be voicing
Sonic the Hedgehog in the upcoming movie, starring alongside James Marsden and Jim Carrey, recently took part in an interview with
Comicbook.com in which he stated that the cinematic adaptation will indeed feature references for dedicated fans to spot.
"There are Easter eggs. There are very fun Easter eggs that people who play Sonic (games) will really enjoy and understand." Exactly what these Easter Eggs will entail is still up for speculation - perhaps something to do with the
Sonic franchise's many other characters like Knuckles, Tails, Amy, and so on.
Sonic the Hedgehog will be speeding into theatres on November 19th, 2019.
