If Detective Pikachu did one thing right, it was translating many beloved Pokémon into live-action. As well as the film's director, one of the people we have to thank for the incredible, realistic redesigns is Stephen Molyneaux.

Molyneaux is a concept artist who worked on Pokémon: Detective Pikachu. His art allowed everybody involved with making the film to see exactly what a Pokémon would actually look like if it were to exist in the real world. Molyneaux recently shared some of his artwork with Kotaku (via Toonado).

Below, you can sift through a selection of astonishing pieces, all of which have one thing in comming: adorable Pokémon. As well as allowing us to see early designs of many Pokémon which feature in Detective Pikachu, the concept art also lets us see realistic designs of some which didn't ultimately make the final cut.
