Back when Rovio Entertainment's
Angry Birds debuted on mobile devices back in 2009, nobody could've guessed that it would grow into the huge children's franchise that it has become. In 2016, the first
Angry Birds animated movie debuted in theatres and now a follow-up had been released.
The Angry Birds Movie 2 stars the likes of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Leslie Jones, Bill Hader, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Danny McBride, Peter Dinklage, Zack Woods, Pete Davidson, Lil Rel Howery, and Beck Bennett. Thurop Van Orman (
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack) and John Rice (
King of the Hill) are at the helm of the animated film.
As well as arriving in theatres,
The Angry Birds Movie 2 has also debuted on
Rotten Tomatoes. The site takes into account a bunch of reviews and figures out a percentage based on how many of them are positive.
Currently, the
Angry Birds movie sequel has an 81% rating on the aggregator site (via
Toonado). Interestingly, this means that
The Angry Birds Movie 2 is the highest-rated video game movie on the site.
The flightless angry birds and the scheming green piggies take their beef to the next level in The Angry Birds Movie 2! Brown) to forge an unsteady truce and form an unlikely superteam to save their homes.
The Angry Birds Movie 2 is set to arrive in theatres on August 2nd, 2019.
