Anyone that has watched the original Pokémon cartoon are familiar with the classic "Who's that Pokémon?" bit of trivia that every episode would feature when cutting to commercials. It was a fun game to play while fans waited for the commercials to end.

During the Pokémon craze back in the late 90s, most fans who watched the cartoon and played the original Game Boy games knew all of the 151 Pokémon, but what about the cast of Detective Pikachu? Do they know their Pokémon lore as well as people assume they do?

IGN recently posted a video that has Ryan Reynolds, Kathryn Newton, Justice Smith, Ryoma Takeuchi, Marie Litoyo, and Detective Pikachu Director Rob Letterman recognizing some of the Pokémon in the same fashion of the "Who's that Pokémon?" trivia.

Check it out:

The first-ever live-action Pokémon movie, “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular character in the first-ever live-action movie based on the iconic face of the global Pokémon brand—one of the world’s most popular, multi-generation entertainment properties and most successful media franchises of all time.

Detective Pikachu will release in theatres on the 10th of May in 2019.
