The PlayStation Underground crew were recently joined by the developers at Toys For Bob, who new gameplay for the upcoming Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, and revealed that Tawna is making her return to the series; and as a playable character, no less.

Tawna was never a playable character in the original games, and her only appearances as a playable character where in Crash Boom Bang! for the Nintendo DS, and more recently in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled; long story short, she has never really been playable until recently.

With that said, however, the developers reveal that this Tawna isn't the same Tawna seen in previous games, as the one that will be playable in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is actually from a different universe; one in which she has apparently been in more than a few adventures of her own.

Toys For Bob has confirmed that Tawna is the final playable character in the game, bringing the number of playable characters in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time up to a total of five; with the rest being Crash, his sister Coco, Neo Cortex, and Dingodile.

One thing that the developers also revealed, was that these additional characters(Neo Cortex, Dingodile, and Tawna) will have their own introductory level, in order to get players accustomed to their own unique abilities, but the game won't really force players to play as them, as most levels are designed in a way that all characters can breeze through them.

Check it out:

Picking up where the original trilogy left off, Neo Cortex and DR. Nefarious Tropy have escaped their interdimensional prison and in doing so have fractured the boundaries of time and space. It's up to Crash and Coco to save the day.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Friday the 2nd of October.
