198X is a game developed by Hi-Bit Studios and published by 8-4, which features a mix of arcade, action-adventure, and drama to make for a rather interesting concept for a retro-looking title set, much like the name appropriately suggests, in the 1980s.
In
198X, players will be taking control of a teenager in their coming of age years who spends their days at the local arcade, and playing video games like every kid growing up in the 80s did; only to realise that at some point the lines of reality and the games they play have started to blur.
As if that wasn't the only interesting aspect of the game, it gets even better — as players will also be able to play a wide variety of video game, all from different genres, within
198X; adding a lot of variety and replayability to this intriguing title.
As the game becomes available today for the Nintendo Switch, we get a gameplay trailer that tells us pretty much everything we need to know about
198X — from a gameplay standpoint, of course — while also showing off its beautiful pixel art style.
