Yesterday Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix announced that the highly anticipated MARVEL's Avengers would be including Spider-Man as a playable character — who will become available as a free post-launch hero, and as an exclusive for PlayStation console owners.
It was also confirmed that this Spider-Man will not be the character created by Insomniac Games for their critically acclaimed MARVEL's Spider-Man, as this version was revealed to be Crystal Dynamics' take on the beloved character from MARVEL Comics.
While this is great news for fans of the web-headded superhero, the news didn't bode well with Xbox and PC players, who make a very valid point by stating that there is no reason to get a version of the game in which one of the most popular characters in superhero history is being excluded from other platforms.
Today Crystal Dynamics has revealed more news that will likely be ill-received by Xbox and PC players, as it has been revealed that MARVEL's Avengers for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will feature even more exclusive content in the form of unique cosmetics, in-game Super Hero nameplates, and various rewards for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
According to the information revealed on the official PlayStation Blog, Community and Social Media Manager at Crystal Dynamics Andy Wong reveals that PlayStation players will get a 3-day access to a Legendary outfit, emote, and an Epic Takedown, which the devs call ability cosmetics.
A special bundle that includes a Rare outfit, exclusive nameplate, and 100 in-game credits to celebrate the addition of another Avenger will be granted to those players who are also subscribed to PlayStation Plus. Similarly, a free bundle for Ms. Marvel will also be available for PlayStation Plus members.
Although this was already known, PlayStation 4 players who pre-order MARVEL's Avengers will also get access to the game's Beta, which will be taking place in just a few more days — from Friday the 7th through Monday the 9th of August, to be more precise, and from the 21st of August through the 23rd of August.
It is worth reminding players that a PlayStation Plus subscription is not needed in order to participate in the MARVEL's Avengers Beta; with the only requirement being that they pre-order the game prior to the aforementioned dates.

MARVEL's Avengers will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on Friday the 4th of September; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X release date to be determined.
