In August of this year, THQ Nordic revealed that they were bringing
Monkey King: Hero is Back to the PlayStation 4 and PC(Steam), and that the action-adventure title was expected to release on the 17th of October.
Based on the Chinese action fantasy movie of the same name,
Monkey King: Hero is Back will see players taking the role of the Monkey King himself and following the story seen in the film, while also adding other subplots that were not part of the movie; expanding on the fantasy world that the movie set up.
The developers assure plyers that
Monkey King: Hero is Back features family friendly levels, so players won't be overwhelmed by the game's difficulty. This coupled with some simple controls and an interesting combat system that will see players learning new abilities as the progress,
Monkey King: Hero is Back is a game that fans of action titles should not sleep on.
As
Monkey King: Hero is Back became available today for the PlayStation 4 and PC(Steam), THQ Nordic has released an action-packed trailer that provides some context about the game's story, while also showing off some of that fast-paced combat that the game offers.

Like the movie, this action-adventure game tells the story of the young monk Liuer meeting his hero Sun Wukong, but places the focus on the Monkey King himself while also introducing players to various stories and subplots not found in the movie. Together, Sun Wukong, Liuer, and Pigsy embark on a journey of adventure, while deepening the bonds of friendship between them.
Monkey King: Hero is Back is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC(Steam) today.
