A few weeks ago, a reputable Capcom insider revealed that the developer was working on a brand-new entry in the Monster Hunter series, and that this game would be an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch.
Other than the game running on a Nintendo Switch-compatible version of the RE Engine, not much information was revealed, but this was still some very exciting news for Nintendo Switch owners; who have been somewhat neglected by Capcom in regards to the monster-hunting series.
During today's special Nintendo Direct Mini Parner Showcase presentation, fans of the series finally got official confirmation from Capcom, as the developer announced Monster Hunter: Rise as an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch.
Monster Hunter: Rise will be an open-world game that will focus on vertical traversal; as well as hunting monsters, of course. The developers mention that they have made traversal itself way more dynamic than in previous entries, introducing some sort of a hookshot called the Wirebug.
The Wirebug doesn't only make traversal more dynamic, as it can also be used to fight enemies by graciously rushing into them, or evading their vicious attacks; from what we see in the trailer, it looks like this new Wirebug instrument will definitely be a game changer.
Capcom also announced that Monster Hunter: Rise will launch for the Nintendo Switch on Friday the 26th of March in 2021, and that pre-orders will open later today; once Capcom launches the game's official website. More information was shared on a special Monster Hunter Direct presentation, which we will be posting below the announcement trailer
