The Outsiders, a young studio founded by David Goldfarb and other developers who worked on DICE's Battlefield series, has shared first details on Project Wight, which received a new title - Darkborn.

In Darkborn, you take on the role of a little monster who must grow, adapt, and evolve to seek revenge on the humans that devastated their family, as Darkborn reverses popular trends and makes you the vulnerable hunted rather than the hunter. The upcoming video game takes place in an original and alternate timeline where Vikings share the world with the remnants of a forgotten species.

"We always center our experience in our own perspectives," said Director David Goldfarb in an interview with Game Informer. "I thought it would be interesting to look at it from the position of a monster who is, in this case, innocent and not the typical threat. What would happen if you were the one being persecuted and the people were the ones who were ruining your habitat and murdering your family? What would that mean and what's that journey like? That to me is really interesting."
