NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella has recently revealed that Rockstar Games' critically acclaimed
Red Dead Redemption 2 has been the best-selling video game of the past 12 months ending in September; this revealed only days before the game also releases on PC.
The Top 3 of best-selling titles in the last 12 months also sees Activision and Blizzard's
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in second place, closely followed by Nintendo and Bandai Namco's
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, although it is worth mentioning that only physical sales were included for the latter.
Now that
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be gaining a second wind, once it finally releases for PC on the
5th of November, it will be very interesting to see how much longer can the game hold the number one position as the best-selling title. Either way, our cowboy hats are off to you, Rockstar Games.
