Last month, Rockstar Games officially announced that
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming to the PC very soon and now it's available to purchase and download.
The acclaimed action-adventure game has been out now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for about a year's time. The title became largely renowned in that time, going so far as to become the best-reviewed video game of the current generation. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that PC players were bummed that the game wasn't available for their preferred platform.
Thankfully, as of today (November 5th), it is! At that, it includes some upscaled visuals and even more content than the console versions of
Red Dead Redemption 2. There's a photo mode that console players don't have access to and also a new bunch of missions, gang hideouts, and weapons —
find out more on that here.
Below is an official statement that Rockstar Games released about the PC port — which basically goes over what seperates the newest version of
Red Dead Redemption 2 from the others:
Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC is optimized to take full advantage of the platform with new graphical and technical enhancements, including increased draw distances for better navigation, higher quality global illumination and ambient occlusion for improved day and night lighting, support for high-end display setups with 4K resolution and beyond, multi-monitor configurations, widescreen configurations, faster frame rates, higher resolution shadows, improved textures and much more.
America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
