Red Dead Redemption was released only on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, and Xbox One and PS4 owners still have to wait to play the sequel, as there's still no mention of the special (or any) PC version. However, one of the programmers behind the game might have just confirmed its existence.
According to the LinkedIn profile of one of the developers currently working on Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar is preparing a PC version of the upcoming western. This Rockstar employee previously worked on Grand Theft Auto V and L.A Noire and VG247 has verified his identity, and of course, the website will keep his name in secret. Mention of the PC version of the game has since been removed, but it does hint that Red Dear Redemption 2 might have a future on PC.
In a recent update, VG247 has been contacted by TGFG, the Rockstar community who hunt Easter Eggs in GTA V, who say their sources also have also confirmed the rumor. Red Dead Redemption 2's main storyline will focus on the backstory of the the Van der Linde gang that played a pivotal role in the first game and gamers will play as Arthur Morgan, the gang's member who's facing major moral dilemmas.
America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on October 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
