However, before we explore Rockstar's open world, YouTube channel GVMERS have provided a fascinating look at the creation of Red Dead Redemption -- a sequel/reboot that brought prestige to the Western genre and kickstarted a franchise.

The documentary charts the entire development process from the use of Rockstar's RAGE engine to the challenges of creating a massive open world environment.
