Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has passed a major milestone, as Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment reveal that the critically acclaimed title has already managed to sell over an impressive 10 million copies since its release in November of last year.
This information was shared on Electronic Arts' preliminary financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter, and full year as of the 31st of March. As revealed by the company, this estimate in sales include both digital and physical copies, although they did not reveal exactly how many copies were sold of each.
A few weeks after the game was released, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment announced that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order had become the fastest-selling digital launch for a Star Wars game ever — which is saying a lot, considering that some players didn't initially trust EA delivering a proper Star Wars title; given the company's history with the Battlefront series.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was not only breaking records for the franchise, as Respawn Entertainment announced earlier this year that the game was actually the company's best-selling game of all time; no small feat, coming from the studio that brought us the Titanfall series.
It has been rumoured — although, at this point is all pretty much but confirmed — that Respawn Entertainment would already be working on the direct sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and that this upcoming title should be expected to launch at some point in 2022.
Just yesterday, in fact, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment surprised fans by announcing that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was getting the long-clamoured New Journey +, as well as some new challenges and cosmetics to keep players coming back to the game.
There's no doubt that the developers have delivered something quite special, and it is nice to seew that it has paid off. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order having sold over 10 million copies is a testament to that, and hopefully Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment will continue to work together in the near future.
