Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the brand-new Respawn Entertainment-developed and Electronic Arts-published
Star Wars action adventure title, was released two weeks ago for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC; becoming a massive hit overnight.
In a short two weeks since the game was released, it has already managed to become Electronic Arts' fastest-selling digital launch for a
Star Wars title ever, announced Electronic Arts early this morning, while also revealing that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the top-selling
Star Wars game on PC in its initial launch window.
Head of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella, as well as Senior Vice President at Games and Interactive Experiences, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Sean Shoptaw, thanked fans for their unconditional support in making
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order one of the best
Star Wars experiences in recent years.
"
On behalf of Respawn and EA, we thank everyone for their support of the studio and the team throughout the development and launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Telling a story in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true and the reception from the fans has been incredible. With the launch of the game, the debut of The Mandalorian and the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan!," said Zampella.
Shoptaw praised the collaboration between Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm — which made possible to deliver such a great experience to
Star Wars fans, while also thanking them for their support and for the phenomenal reception the game has had since launch.
"
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order demonstrates the amazing potential for original storytelling in Star Wars games. The close collaboration between Respawn and Lucasfilm is a perfect example of how we can deliver an experience for fans that is authentic to the stories and worlds they love, while also being an incredibly fun and innovative game. With the fantastic reception and launch so far, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has proven to be the must-play game this Holiday."
Because of Electronic Arts' history with the
Star Wars franchise, a lot of fans were worried about
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order becoming another game that would heavily feature microtransactions and lootboxes. Respawn Entertainment, however, had stated that none of that would be an issue in their game, as they had full control of what they wanted to do in terms of story and gameplay.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of, if not, the best
Star Wars games ever made, and it is great to see that it has had such an incredible reception from fans. It will be interesting to see what Respawn does next — if given the opportunity, of course — to develop more
Star Wars games; fans will likely appreciate it.
Cal Kestis—one of the last surviving members of the Jedi Order after the purge of Order 66—is now a Padawan on the run. Experience this all-new single-player Star Wars story from Respawn Entertainment and EA Star Wars on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this holiday season.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
