Star Wars: Squadrons was released last Friday, and is the brand-new action title developed by Motive Studios and Electronic Arts, which gives players one of the most immersive Star Wars video game experiences ever; especially those who play the game in VR mode, many agree.

If you're an avid Star Wars fan, chances are that you have already gotten to experience the recently title, and have also probably beaten the single player campaign. For those still unaware, Star Wars: Squadrons does feature a single player mode, but it is mainly a multiplayer experience.

Is it possible that you experience with the game's single player campaign left you wanting for more? If this is the case, we may have some sour news for you, as it seems that Electronic Arts doesn't have any plans to release additional content for the game, of any kind, although that door may still not be fully closed just yet.

In a recent interview with Upload VR, Star Wars: Squadrons Creative Director Ian Frazier has revealed that they don't really have any plans to develop neither downloadable content nor extra modes, as they wanted to give players the full experience from the get-go.

"Never say never, so to speak, but as far as our philosophy goes we're not trying to treat the game as a live service. We don’t want to say, 'It's almost done!' and then dribble out more of it over time, which to be honest is how most games work these days," explained Frazier in regards to additional content for the game.

Frazier then adds: "So we've tried to treat it in kind of an old-school approach saying, 'You've paid the $40, this is the game and it’' entirely self-contained. We're not planning to add more content, this is the game, and we hope you understand the value proposition.'"

While this may be disappointing, it isn't difficult to see where Frazier is coming from, and it is actually quite commendable that they went in knowing exactly what they wanted to give players from day one.

If Star Wars: Squadrons does well — from a commercial standpoint, of course — and both Electronic Arts and Motive Studios see that more can be done, great. If not, players will at least know that they are already getting the full experience the developers always intended to deliver.

Buckle up, take full control of starfighters such as the X-wing and TIE fighter, and feel the adrenaline of strategic first-person 5v5 multiplayer dogfights alongside your squadron. In a fateful campaign set near the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War, learn what it means to be a pilot in a thrilling STAR WARS™ single-player story. The New Republic fights for freedom. The Empire demands order. We need you to join the galaxy’s finest.

Star Wars: Squadrons is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
