Grinding Gear Games (GGG) is ramping up excitement for Path of Exile's next chapter. The studio announced another GGG Live for February 26th at 11 AM PST on twitch.tv/pathofexile, promising a deep dive into Patch 3.28 the Mirage expansion along with its challenge league, and additional content. Following the livestream, Game Director Mark and Game Designer Octavian will field questions in a Q&A hosted by content creator ZiggyD, giving players direct access to the visionaries behind Wraeclast's evolution. Here is a quick look at the teaser for upcoming update:
The event caps weeks of cryptic teasers hinting at Mirage's theme: time manipulation, parallel realities, and legacy league revivals. Daily shorts since mid-February showcased distorted maps, echoing mechanics from Necropolis pre-maps, Phrecia, and past hits like Breach or Affliction. Community speculation runs wild as per usual with many thinking: mirror shards for alternate timelines? Custom atlas trees? New ascendancies via endgame trials? Many of these ideas are fueled by player dreams and we will not know for sure till it comes out.
Mirage league launches free March 6th at 11 AM PST on PC (Steam client) and consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One), kicking off ladder play with a soft reset for fresh progression. Patch notes should drop at some point post-stream, detailing balance shifts, new uniques, and the league's core loop. Twitch Drops activate during the event (details next week), rewarding viewers with cosmetics or stashes and as always co-streaming is encouraged for maximum hype
Path of Exile's quarterly cycle keeps it fresh: 3.27 Settlers of Kalguur (November 2025) introduced city-building and trading, peaking at 300k+ concurrents and billions in commerce. Mirage builds on that momentum, promising "defeat time itself" via reality-warping encounters. It is very possible that we see zone-entry choices for altered content Necropolis-style pre-maps, Phrecia mods, legacy revivals like Sentinel or Mercenaries plus Mirage packs for wild crafting and pinnacle bosses. Jungroan joked about a "final 3.0 league" merging PoE1/2 graphics, capturing some good laughs about the latest league.
GGG's transparency shines with players once more as well thanks to the February 9th timeline update confirmed March 6th amid polish focus. ZiggyD's Q&A helps to ensure player voices are heard and help shape patch notes as past streams addressed mana nerfs, MF scaling, and shrine tweaks.
Since 2013, PoE has delivered 28 expansions, evolving from ARPG benchmark to live-service titan defeating Diablo in the eyes of many. Consoles since 2020 broaden access; PoE2 looms as a sequel and another strong game that beats many other ARPGs. Mark your calendars for the Feb 26th stream, March 6th launch. Drops, co-streams as Wraeclast calls. Will you be ready for all of the loot and monsters?
