Assassin's Creed Odyssey is taking things back to Ancient Greece, and it seems that the game will be fully embracing the rich, and captivating Greek mythology.
Ubisoft usually tends to add as much realism and lore as possible when developing
Assassin's Creed titles. While the concept of the games does have its fair share of science fiction, it does seem to want to keep things as grounded as possible.
Things will be changing a bit this time around as
Assassin's Creed Odyssey lives up to its name and will be introducing mythological creatures like the Gorgon Medusa from Greek mythology.
The new gameplay video for
Assassin's Creed Odyssey focuses on the Medusa, being described as a ruthless enemy that only high level players will be able to defeat. The Medusa will lurk in caves and hidden places, so players will always have to be on their toes when exploring the game's vast open-world.
Much like the mythos, the Gorgon Medusa will be able to turn players to stone if they gaze upon her face, so they'll have to take full advantage of the environment in order to avoid staring at her directly.
