Ubisoft's
Assassin's Creed franchise is well in 10 games in the main series and it seems now that they are trying to take full advantage of
Virtual Reality technology. With a game like Assassin's Creed, it seems like it could be a very interesting idea.
Ubisoft is teaming up with the interactive entertainment company,
Triotech to bring this idea to life to Ubisoft's Rabbids Amusement Center in Point-Claire, Montreal, Canada. So, unfortunately, it will be only a VRCade game, so playing it on a consumer VR headset would not be possible. However, visitors at Ubisoft Center will be able to immerse themselves in many settings and environments of different Assassin's Creed world's at their will.
Ernest Yale, CEO of Triotech, offers insight for the VR experience (via
vrfocus):
"We have watched the evolution of Virtual Reality technology closely over the last few years. We feel that with this solution we have a strong offering to the market when considering both the content and the technology but most importantly, the guest experience"
Ubisoft and Triotech will use VR every aspect of the game, so expect visceral combat, fast-paced parkour and huge settings.
Although no other news has been found about an Assassin's Creed VR experience for consumers, it could still be a possibility in the near future, with the rapidly growing market.
