WB Games Montreal has released two more game modes for Gotham Knights. The new modes, Heroic Assault and Showdown, are 4-player co-op and 2-player co-op game modes that are separate from the original campaign. That campaign also offers a 2-player co-op mode, though any of them can be single-player if desired.
For anyone familiar with the Arkham game series, and expects Gotham Knights to be a sequel will be dissapointed as this is not a continuation, but rather a stand-alone story, even though it was the same developers who brought us Batman: Arkham Origins back in 2013. Which is a canon prequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum (2009), Arkham City (2011), and Arkham Knight (2015).
Gotham Knights is an action role-playing game (RPG) set in the open world of Gotham City where you patrol, either solo or with one other hero, five different districts to drop in and bust up criminal activity. You also face underground corruption and some not-so-subtle foe's in the main story.
The new modes will be accessible for the player(s) after they retrieve Case File 05 from the campaign mode. Through Heroic Assault the player(s) will compete in an arena of enemies as you climb increasingly difficult floors, topping out at up to 30. This mode sets itself apart from the others as it opens up 4-player co-op.
Showdown offers players a completely different game mode as you face off against the various Super-Villains of Batman. Villains include Clayface, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, and more if you can unlock them. Work to your strengths and even bring another Knight thanks to 2-player co-op.

Gotham Knights was released on October 21, 2022, for Playstation, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows. The ratings for Gotham Knights appear mostly positive with a 7/10 on Steam and over 7,000 reviews. Players will have a diversity of interactions depending on if they're strategic, stealthy, or guns blazing according to which Knight they choose to play as. Play with friends or make new ones while online where additional Knights can drop in with you and bust up more crime together.
